Scope of Work
The Challenge
Giving a 68 sqm one-bedroom warmth and generous storage without crowding it or blowing a first-home budget.
Our Solution
Made-to-measure, factory-direct joinery hid storage in plain sight and delivered a bespoke fit within a first-buyer budget.
Our Approach
A Japandi blend of warm ash, lime plaster and earthy neutrals, with quiet built-in storage that keeps a compact home calm and uncluttered.
Project Story
Japandi — the meeting of Japanese calm and Scandinavian warmth — was the perfect language for this compact JVC one-bedroom. Our client wanted somewhere to decompress, not a space to constantly tidy, so restraint was the whole point.
We used warm ash wood, lime-plaster walls and soft, earthy neutrals to give the apartment texture without clutter. A custom low-line media unit, a slatted timber partition and a platform bed with hidden storage do the heavy lifting quietly, keeping sightlines long and the mood serene. Every piece was made to measure in Foshan, which let us fit the joinery to the millimetre and keep the all-in cost sensible for a first home.
Fifty-five days from sign-off, the apartment was delivered fully styled — right down to the ceramics and the linen throw. A small home that feels deeply considered.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is turnkey design worth it for a smaller apartment?
Absolutely — smaller homes benefit most from clever, made-to-measure joinery, and they often finish faster, like this 55-day project.
What is Japandi style?
It blends Japanese minimalism with Scandinavian warmth — natural materials, soft neutrals and calm, uncluttered space.
